Should I register a trademark or famous name?
No, unless the trademark or the famous name is owned by you in the first place. Please consult with an attorney regarding such matters.

I do not have a name server for domain registration, should I obtain a name server before proceed for a domain registration?
If currently you do not have a name server, you may register the domain by using our default name server [ns1.ezydomain.com, ns2.ezydomain.com] in order to secure your desired domain name.

What is name server?
A name server is the Internet-wide system for connecting domain names, like yahoo.com, to their respective web servers. Name server translates domain names to their corresponding IP Address. Without name server, users would have to visit their favorite web sites by typing in numbers instead of their names.

What is URL Forwarding and how does it work?
URL Forwarding is when a user types in one address (URL) for a web site and is then redirected to another site, often the URL name entered will be short and easy to remember.

What is email forwarding and how does it work?
For e-mail forwarding to work you must have a pre-existing e-mail account such as (anyone@domain.com). We will then forward any e-mail that is addressed to (xxxx@yourdomain.cc) to (anyone@domain.com). It does not matter what you have before the @ symbol, it will all be forwarded to your pre-existing e-mail account and there is no extra setup that must be done.

What is domain parking?
If you do not indicate where you would like to forward the domain to a specific host server, it will normally be "parked" at a server for you. The domain will remain on these servers until you forward them to somewhere else. If someone tries to access the domain, an "Under Construction" page will appear on the screen. Once you have found a host for your website, the hosting company will be able to transfer your domain to their server.

I made a mistake and misspelled of the domain name that I registered! What can I do about it?
We cannot correct a misspelled domain, regardless of the reason. Therefore, PLEASE double and triple check the spelling of the domain(s) you are registering and the information that you are entering. If you want the correct the spelling, you will have to purchase it at regular price if the domain is still available for new registration.

Make sure your IE browser encoding is set as UTF-8 to use this tool.

    What will happen if I did not renew my .TW domain before it has expired?
    Once the .TW domain has expired, it will be suspended. Customers are still able to renew the domain within 30 days of renewal grace period while it is expired. If the .TW is still not being renewed within the renewal grace period, it will drop into 3 days pending deletion period and straightly will be deleted approximately 33 days for the expiry date.

    What happen if my domain has fall into redemption grace period, can I restore my domain? If yes, what is the charges?

    If the domain has not been renew during the renewal grace period, the domain will fall into redemption grace period which varies according to different extension. Please note that only certain extension can be restored.

    To restore a domain, USD 120 of restoration fee and one year of renewal fee is required.
    As payment via credit card is not available for domain under redemption grace period, you are require to bank in the payment to us via TT payment. Please contact clientcare@web.cc to obtain the TT account information.

    For TT payment less than USD 500, additional USD 30 of service charge will be charged. The total payment will be restoration fee + renewal fee + TT charges.

    Please send us the TT slip via email to clientcare@web.cc when payment is made. Clearing of TT payment will require 2-4 working days.

      Registrar: A registrar is a company that registers domain names.

    Losing Registrar: The losing registrar is the current registrar of your domain that you wish to transfer away. If a domain is currently registered with Network Solutions and you are transferring it to WEBCC, Network Solutions is the losing registrar.

    Registrant: The registrant is the owner of a particular domain name.

    What is domain transfer?
    Domain Transfer is a process of transferring or changing your domain registration from your existing Registrar to another new Registrar. Currently, our system support for the domain transfer of .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name, .cc, .cn, .tw and .sg.

  • At http://web.cc/cgi-bin/transfer.cgi?source=webcc, fill up the domain name, authorization code and submit the transfer;
  • Fill up the Punycode code if you are transferring an IDN domain;
  • Authorization code is required for .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name, .cn, .tw and .sg domain transfer while .cc transfer do not required authorization code;
  • Domain will be renewed for one year upon transfer completion except for .sg domain; .sg domain will not be extended upon transfer completion.

    What is authorization code and why this needed for a domain transfer?
    Authorization code is a 6- to 16-character "password" assigned by a sponsoring Registrar. It identifies your domain name in Registry. Authorization code is required for .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name, .cn, .tw and .sg domain name in order to prevent any unauthorized transfer.

    Where can I obtain my domain authorization code?
    You will have to contact your current sponsoring Registrar to request for the domain's authorization code. Registrants are advised to keep their authorization code confidential to avoid unauthorized transfers of domain names.

    How much does it cost to transfer my domain name?
    There are no hidden costs to transfer your domain name to us. All you need to pay is the renewal duration that will be added to the current expiration date for your domain name as domain will be renewed for one year upon transfer completion except for .sg.     How long does it normally take to transfer a domain name?
    It normally takes 2 -10 business days to successfully transfer your domain to us. If you requested a transfer of your domain more than ten (10) days ago and haven't heard anything back from us, please contact us for assistance.

    Do I need to wait until my renewal date is closer?
    No, you can transfer your domain name at any time and the domain remaining year will be transferred over with the domain name. In fact, we would advise you to transfer your domain to us at least 2 weeks prior to expiry, to avoid any unnecessary delay and take the risk of losing it.

    Does domain transfer mean that I am transferring ownership of the domain to you?
    Absolutely not! When you transfer your domain, the only changes to your domain are the Registrar and not others. You are still the owner of your domain, and retain full administrative control at all times.

    Can transferring a domain to you cause any downtime?
    No, changing the registrar entry for your domain on the root servers is immediate.

    What problems could delay or prevent the transfer of my domain?
  • If the e-mail address of the current administrative contact for the domain is invalid, you won’t receive the confirmation e-mail and won’t be able to confirm the transfer.
  • Losing registrar can deny a transfer for several reasons: if the domain is not paid for, or if the domain is involved in a legal dispute
  • A transfer will not able to perform if the domain is less than 60 days old, and if the domain is under Lock status

    What happens if my domain name is transferred within the 45-calendar day after the renewal date?
    If a domain is transferred within the 45-calendar day after the renewal date, then the renewal year added by Losing Registrar is dropped. The Gaining Registrar will add one year to the domain name's expiration date. Hence, the domain expiration date will remain the same.

    .com.sg - Applicable for companies and businesses, applicants must be a commercial entities in which either registered or are about to be registered with the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), IE Singapore or any professional body.     Unified Login is a feature, which allows one User ID and Password to manage all your domain names. In other word, no individual password required to manage each domain name. It eases the process of domain name management.

    How to create a Unified Login account?
    System will require a User ID and Password to be created during new domain name registration. Select 'New Customer', fill in the User ID and password you prefer to create Unified Login account.

    I have created the Unified Login, how to register new domain name to same account?
    Remember your previous User ID and password, select 'Existing Customer', fill in your ID and password, system will forward you to following registration page to continue with registration if the ID and password is accurate. The domain name register will therefore add to your account.

    How to add my previous registered domain name to my Unified Login?
    We have 'Add domains to my user account' feature for you to add domain name to the Unified Login. Login to Web Address Manager, select 'Existing User Login' to login to your account, you will be able to view the feature then.

    I have tried to add domain name to my Unified Login account, but failed. Why?
    This might due to:
  • Your domain name password is incorrect
  • The domain name is not registered with the same registrar.
    Please confirm the information mentioned above and try again.

    Previously, I have registered the domain name with no Unified Login, how to assign a login to my domain name now?
    We have a feature for our previous registrants to create Unified Login account. Select Web Address Manager, select 'Create New User ID', choose the User ID your prefer and key in your existing domain name and password. System will create the ID if authentication of domain name is successful.

    What happen to the domain name password that previously assigned?
    Once you have created the Unified Login, all you previous domain names password will be changed to your login password. By the way, you only required Unified Login password to manage all you domain names.

    Can I choose not to use Unified Login?
    It is compulsory for all customers to create Unified Login in order to manage their domain names.

    I forgot my Unified Login password!
    No worry, select Web Address Manager and click on 'Forgot password', fill in your User ID and one of the domain name in account to retrieve the password. An email will be sent to the Registrant email of your domain name to confirm your ID and password.

    What is Domain Handler?
    During registration, the Registrant, Administrative and Technical Contact information for that particular domain name will be recorded and a Domain Handler of that domain name will be created. In future, if you would like to register a domain name with similar contact information, just select that Domain Handler. System will automatically load the domain information in registration form, therefore you are not require to fill the information.

    How do I able login and manage my domain via Web Address Manager feature?
    You are able to login and manage your domain via Web Address Manager feature by using your Unify Login created during the domain registration process. For more information on the Unify Login, please refer to Unify Login FAQ.

    What are the features available under Web Address Manager?
    You are able to View Whois Information, Modify Whois Information, Modify DNS, Transfer of User ID and Change of Registrant. Domain name which are using our default DNS [ns1.web.cc, ns2.web.cc] will be able to set for URL Forwarding, Email Forwarding, Subdomains Management and DNS Hosting.

    I failed to perform the DNS modification, why?
    There are several reasons where you are unable to perform the DNS modification; if the domain is under name protected; or if the new DNS has yet registered into registry. Please contact us for further assistance on this.

    What is name protection?
    Name protection can means that the domain has been placed under Lock status where this shall prevent unwanted registrar transfer, reseller transfer, DNS change and domain name deletion. This shall always ensure your domain name status will not be changed without prior getting your approval.

    When do my domain names starting protected by this new service?
    Name Protection works instantly and automatically upon every successful domain name registration and transfer. Name Protection does not apply on renewal; however you are still able to renew the domain name even though the domain name is under protected status. It is advise after renewed your domain name, you should activate the Name Protection. Domain name renewal will not be protected automatically after success renewed.

    How do I know the status of my domain name?
    You will be able to know the status by login to the Web Address Manager. You will be able to view your status by selecting option Name Protection. There are 2 statuses:
  • Protect: Enable the Name Protection and the domain name will not be able to change DNS, transfer and deletion.
  • Active: Disable the Name Protection and domain name is active for DNS changes, deletion and transfer.

    How to protect or activate my domain name status?
    As customer, you are unable to change the status of your domain name. Please contact us for status changes.

    If my domain name is protected, can I transfer my domain name?
    No, when a domain name is protected, you are unable to transfer your domain name to other registrar or within reseller. Please activate your domain name before transfer.

    If my domain name is protected, can I delete my domain name?
    No, when a domain name is protected, you are unable to delete your domain name. Please activate your domain name before deletion.

    If my domain name is protected, can I change my domain name DNS setting?
    No, you are unable to change the DNS setting when your domain name is protected. Please activate your domain name before perform the DNS setting modification.

    If my domain name is protected, do I have to activate my domain name before renew?
    Not necessary, Name Protection will not affect renewal process. You may continue your renewal even though domain name is protected. However, it is advise that you should always activate your Name Protection to protect your name.

    Is the domain name contact information will not be able to change under Name Protection?
    Others than DNS change, other domain name contact information such as name, address, email address etc will still active for changes even though the name is protected.

    How will the WHOIS information show?
    If your domain name is protected, you will find the Whois information shows status as REGISTRAR-LOCK in registry Whois.

    I want to change the owner of my domain name, what should I take note before proceed?
    The Change of Registrant process allows you to change the Registrant or ownership details of a domain name in real time. Please note the process is subject to validation of following:
  • The change of Registrant currently is only applicable for .com/.net/.org/.info/.biz/.cc/.cn/.tw/.sg domain name only, for .my domain name, please contact us for further assistance.
  • As the Current Registrant, you must have possession of the User ID and password for the domain to perform the Change of Registrant. The Change of Registrant process is only applicable for domain names registered or managed directly by WEBCC.

    How do I change the owner of my domain?
  • To initiate the Change of Registrant request, current registrant will need to access Wed Address Manager and login with User ID and Password
  • Select the domain that would like to change the Registrant information from the domain name list
  • Select Change of Registrant function
  • Current registrant will be required to fill in the new Registrant information and assign New User ID and password or transfer to another User ID
  • Click on 'update' and the change of owner will be performed immediately

    Is the change of registrant chargeable?
    The change of registrant is free of charge.

    Will existing Registrant be notified of the change of registrant action?
    Yes, a confirmation email notice to the registrant contact email address will be generated to advise on the Change of Registrant. The previous owner has 48 hours from the time the confirmation email has been received to dispute the case by return email.

    If the change is disputed, WEBCC Ltd will revert the domain to its previous registrant without further question. The current and new Registrant of the domain name should be responsible for any dispute caused thereof.
